Yo era jefe del grupo Artillería 3 y estaba en Paso de los Libres. Me enteré de la recuperación de las Islas Malvinas a las 7.30 del día 2 de abril, no tenía ni el más mínimo conocimiento. Mi unidad no recibió ninguna orden hasta varios días después, aproximadamente el 6, el 7 que recibe una orden de alistarse para concurrir al sur del país, no a Malvinas, esto fue el día 6 y 7. El 9 mi unidad embarca en tren, hicimos cambio de trenes aquí en Martín Coronado y el día 13 de abril a las 3.30 a.m. arribé a Malvinas con el primer escalón de mi unidad. Es decir, cambiaron las órdenes. Primero iba al sur o no dijeron y luego nos desviaron en el tren hacia Ingeniero White, de ahí a la base Espora y en la base Espora, el Hércules, Malvinas.
Probablemente haber tenido un poco mas de tiempo para preparar algunos elementos que eran indispensables en Malvinas y que los tuve que comprar en forma acelerada e improvisada en Bahía Blanca. Por ejemplo cierto material para tapar municiones, plástico para el agro que fue muy útil en Malvinas y otras cosas. El teatro de operaciones de Malvinas, el ambiente geográfico no es igual al de nuestro sur porque tiene particularidades y necesitábamos ciertos elementos para ocultar esas particularidades pero como todo fue improvisado, todo fue totalmente improvisado con la conducción estratégica nacional y militar hoy no nos debe asombrar eso.
El ejército argentino, las FFAA no estaban preparadas para la guerra, habíamos tenido una experiencia en el año 78 con esa, gracias a Dios, guerra que no fue con la hermana Republica de Chile, no se capitalizaron esas experiencias. Ni el ejército, ni la armada, ni la FFAA estaban capacitadas para afrontar una guerra y particularmente una guerra de las condiciones particulares de Malvinas: una guerra en un terreno insular, que tiene condicionantes que después los podemos ampliar.

I was the chief commander of Artillery Group 3 and I was in Paso de los Libres. I got to know of Malvinas Islands' recovery on April 2nd, at 7.30 AM, I had no idea about it. My unit hadn't been issued any orders whatsoever until many days later, on 6th or 7th, on which it receives a recruitment order to set out to Southern Argentina, not Malvinas, this was on 6th or 7th. On April 9th, my unit went on a train, we changed trains on the way, in Martin Coronado, and on April 13th at 3:30 AM I arrived at Malvinas together with the first group of my unit, in other words, orders had been changed. First, we were heading to the south, then, we were deviated to the train to Ingeniero White, and from there we went to Espora military base and from Espora to the Hercules... to Malvinas.
Probably, I wish I'd had a little more time to prepare some essentials which were fundamental in Malvinas and I had to hurry to buy them in a sort of improvisation in Bahia Blanca. For instance, a kind of particular material to cover munitions, plastic for the agro which was quite handy in Malvinas and things of the sort. The operation theatre in Malvinas, its geographic setting was different from ours in the southern region because it had some peculiar characteristics which needed to be hidden behind certain tools, though everything was sort of an improvisation, everything was totally improvised together with national and military strategic conduction; this is something not to be surprised at nowadays.
The Argentine army, the Armed Forces weren't ready for war, we'd had an experience in 1978 with that, thank God, never-broken-out war against our brother-nation, the Chilean Republic. Those experiences were never capitalized. Neither the Army, nor the Navy, nor the Armed Forces were trained to wage war and particularly, war amongst those precise Malvinas' conditions: a war in an insular region, with conditioning factors we can later go over.

Background— Nonobstructive hypertrophy localized to the cardiac apex is an uncommon morphological variant of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) that often is further distinguished by distinct giant negative T waves and a benign clinical course. The genetic relationship between HCM with typical hypertrophic morphology versus isolated apical hypertrophy is incompletely understood.
Methods and Results— Genetic cause was investigated in 15 probands with apical hypertrophy by DNA sequence analyses of 9 sarcomere protein genes and 3 other genes (GLA, PRKAG2, and LAMP2) implicated in idiopathic cardiac hypertrophy. Six sarcomere gene mutations were found in 7 samples; no samples contained mutations in GLA, PRKAG2, or LAMP2. Clinical evaluations demonstrated familial apical HCM in 4 probands, and in 3 probands disease-causing mutations were identified. Two families shared a cardiac actin Glu101Lys missense mutation; all members of both families with clinical manifestations of HCM (n=16) had apical hypertrophy. An essential light chain missense mutation Met149Val caused apical or midventricular segment HCM in another proband and 5 family members, but 6 other affected relatives had typical HCM morphologies. No other sarcomere gene mutations identified in the remaining probands caused apical HCM in other family members.
Conclusions— Sarcomere protein gene mutations that cause apical hypertrophy rather than more common HCM morphologies reflect interactions among genetic etiology, background modifier genes, and/or hemodynamic factors. Only a limited number of sarcomere gene defects (eg, cardiac actin Glu101Lys) consistently produce apical HCM.

Nociones básicas- La hipertrofia no obstructiva ubicada en el ápice cardíaco es una variación morfológica anormal de la miocardiopatía hipertrófica (MCH) que con frecuencia se detecta a grandes rasgos por medio de ondas T negativas especiales y un tratamiento médico adecuado. La relación genética entre MCH y la morfología hipertrófica típica de la patología en oposición a la hipertrofia apical aislada no es totalmente comprendida.
Métodos y Resultados- El factor genético fue tratado en 15 pacientes con hipertrofia apical mediante una serie de análisis de ADN de 9 genes sarcómera proteicos y otros 3 genes (GLA, PRKAG2 y LAMP2) presentes en la hipertrofia cardíaca idiopática. Seis mutaciones de genes sarcómera se hallaron en 7 muestras; ninguna presentaba mutaciones en GLA, PRKAG2 o LAMP2. A través de estudios clínicos, se detectaron MCH apical familiar en 4 pacientes y las mutaciones que provocan la patología en otros 3 pacientes. Dos familias compartían una mutación missense (con cambio de sentido) de actina cardíaca Glu101Lys; todos los miembros de ambas familias con manifestación clínica de MH (n=6) experimentaron hipertrofia apical. En otro paciente y en cinco familiares, una esencial serie ligera de mutación missense Met149Val causó MCH en el sector apical o medioventricular, pero otros 6 parientes afectados presentaron morfologías propias de MCH. Ninguna otra mutación de gen sarcómera detectada en los pacientes restantes causó MCH apical en otros miembros de la familia.
Conclusiones- Aquellas mutaciones de gen sarcómera que causan hipertrofia apical en lugar de una morfología más común de MCH, reflejan interacciones que afectan la etiología genética, la formación de genes modificadores y/o los factores hemodinámicas. Sólo un limitado número de genes sarcómera defectuosos (por ejemplo, la actina cardíaca Glu101Lys) produce MCH apical constantemente.
