- 1) Situació narrativa que s'insereix en un relat audiovisual com a record d'una situació cronològicament anterior respecte al temps narratiu preestablert.
2) El salt enrere, flashback (en anglès: escena retrospectiva) o analepsi és una tècnica utilitzada tant en el cinema com en la literatura que altera la seqüència cronològica de la història, connectant moments diferents i traslladant l'acció al passat.

- L’analepse ou retour en arrière est une figure de style. Elle correspond à un retour en arrière, au récit d'une action qui appartient au passé. Il consiste à raconter après-coup un événement. On peut également parler de flashback pour exprimer cette idée, mais le terme de flashback ne s'utilise qu'à propos de cinéma. L'analepse est aussi utilisée pour la navigation.
