L'expression clic et mortier (click and mortar) a été formée sur le modèle de brique et mortier (en anglais brick and mortar ou BAM, où le mot brick a été remplacé par click). Brique et mortier (ou briques et mortier) correspond à une entreprise traditionnelle.
