Student members-only topic
A notice board! Thread poster: Soledad Azcona

Hi all,
I take this idea from another thread:
Does your school have a notice board with ads or anything? Sometimes you can find jobs on there.
What about creating a virtual space at the site for your school's notice boards?
I think it would be very useful for all students wanting to study abroad, looking for an internship or even to learn about things going on at your own school -sometimes one is so into books and exams that misses the interesting things going on in our own city!
We could even have groups of student volunteers that translate news into different languages, so that nobody misses anything. That could be good experience for students and also a nice promotion since we could place a visible line reading "This was translated into X language by student X", with a search engine optimized link to your profiles. Promotion of this kind is significant, as it provides a substantial boost to the "page rank" a profile in search engines such as Yahoo! and Google, resulting in an increase in traffic to your profile (ProZ.com's main pages have the highest page ranks in the industry, and these are inherited by pages we link to.)
We could choose universities representatives or regional representatives that could bring to this notice board information from your school's noticeboards or information that you pick up in your cities, and also work the other way round, that is, helping that information that other students post here reaches your classmates and friends.
So, what do you think? Do you want to do this?
