Research suggests that within a sound management programme, including adequate aeration, these rollers can be used several days a week without causing compaction. A recent recommendation is to concentrate rolling in the area immediately round the ****day’s hole location****, as this is the part of the green where it is most noticeable how smooth and fast the surface is. Working on a relatively small area also reduces the time spent on this operation.
What do they mean by day's hole? golfers don't play only one hole a day, do they?
Any golfer around to help?
Thanks in advance.

It seems that we non-golfers have been a bit in the dark about this, Michel! If you read the web link below, you will see that they DO in fact move the holes, as much as every day!!
I guess it's mainly done when there are a lot of players on a course, or for big competitions. It appears from my research that the players don't always know EXACTLY where the hole is on each green, which appears to add challenge and interest to the game.
Don't say this too loudly, but my dear old dad used to say that a game of golf was a good walk spoiled!!
Good luck, and a happy New Year!
