Thanks Nesrin, you are right and that is why in the context it says "some exposure" I only translated exposure and in the context it will be as you said "بعض الخبرة"

"دراية" I think that it suits this context. as this person has "دراية" & not experience in "design and algorithm development", therefore he is not an expert in it..
