: The only problem is, we don't have enough context to know if this is indeed WOODEN moulding — it might equally easily be PLASTER, for example! (cf. also subsequent question...)

yes, it's true... in the previous case (Trim mold: The wood that has been nailed around the window to trim or finish the opening.) it means wood, but it depends where it's located...
