My apologies for this ignorant question and probably horrible spelling above. My Cyrillic reading skills are very basic.
This is from a visa application (for my husband), and the text above is in a field which I think denotes the visa type (the field says "Vid vize" or something ike that).
Could someone please enlighten me? (we'd like the application to be consistent with the invitation)
Thank you so much in advance!
(feel free to change that to non-pro - I'm not in a position to decide!)

simple humanitarian
Obknovennaya gumanitarnaya means "simple humanitarian" which does not make sence to me since of all the Russian visa types this one I have never heard of.
When my husband goes to Russia with me we always get him a homestay visa. There's also a tousist visa, a busines visa and a transit visa.

Here's what I found in English:
The ordinary humanitarian visa is given out for the term of one year to the foreign citizen entering to the Russian Federation for realization scientific, cultural, political, sports, or religious communications and contacts, or pilgrimage, or charities, or delivery of the humanitarian help.

Note from asker:
Thanks Tatiana! As I told Jack above, he's going on a conference, so I too find the word "Humanitarian" a bit strange here! |
Thanks a lot for the added note, Tatiana, that explains it all! :-) |

Comment: "Thanks all and Tatiana! Tatiana was ahead with "ordinary humanitarian" in her added note.

normal humanitarian
This is a literal translation, and seems to make sense in the context.
Note from asker:
Thanks Jack! I though the 2nd word might mean humanitarian, but thought it's a bit strange as he's going on a conference! |
