Discussion

MHarland Jul 12, 2009:
I'd go along with Michael's comments - I just felt the interpretation of 'do' as a time expression 'from the' was a little odd, but that is how tech jargon is at times (and the inconsistencies in the use of the definite article in Portuguese!).
Katja van Hellemond (asker) Jul 12, 2009:
certainly food for thought! I will go over the rest of the text and see if there are more sentences confirming this possibility. Thank you for your time and feedback.
Michael Powers (PhD) Jul 12, 2009:
how they relate Thanks for asking katjia. I think they are definitely related.

The time (day, week, month, year) of the actual interpretation of the mammography as a result of the hospital "invitation" is compared to the actual response time of the woman that has been invited to get the mammography. Hence, if in a hypothetical case, a woman is invited to a screening on March 1, XXXX, for a screening to make sure that there are no signs of recurrent breast cancer, and yet she takes several months before responding to the invitation, with certain aggressive forms of breast cancer (such as ductile cell carcinoma), it is not unfathomable that it could progress at least one stage. This would be a type of documentation against possible liability in the form of a lawsuit for malpractice.

Hello Mike, thanks for the feedback. I'm wondering though whether your option is correct as another repetitive sentence in this document is: Dia da semana (or month, year, etc) de resposta ao pedido do parecer. Any thoughts?

I wonder whether 'leitura' in this software context refers to the scanning in of a document - in some large automated systems like hospital databases using standardised documents this is possible
