L'explication de Bruno est possible aussi. Il faudrait voir à quoi ça ressemble pour voir s'il s'agit de soulever avec un tournevis, ou d'ouvrir vraiment l'accès.

Mais a priori, la partie que l'on "knock out" saute. Je ne préciserais pas "emporte-pièce", car il y a sûrement moyen de faire ça au tournevis aussi.

: The implication of 'knock out' is that you push it forcibly in, not lever it out. The whole idea is that you don't need to have a punch, you can knock it out using a screwdriver, etc. (depending on the material and how big it is)

: je suis d'accord avec ça, même si la traduction est un peu longue. Le terme "emporte-pièce" alourdit un peu la traduction et est peut-être erroné ou trop précis.

"1. Position the glass into the down position.
2. Remove the door trim panel
3. If equipped, using a punch or similar tool, carefully remove the glass disconnect hole plugs
4. Release the two glass retainer tabs (3) and separate the glass clip (4) from the regulator lift plate and position into the full up position.
5. Position the glass (1) into the full up position and using tape or equivalent, secure the glass.
6. Disconnect the door wire harness at the A-pillar and separate the check strap from the hook.
7. Remove the screws (6) and separate the wire harness push pins from the door structure.
8. Remove the door handle screw (1).
9. Remove the latch screws (4).
10. Remove the rubber hole plug in the door and remove the nut (2).
11. Remove the upper latch bracket screw (3).
12. Remove the carrier plate screws (5) and remove the carrier plate assembly (7) from the door. "

: But that's talking about removing plugs, I'm not sure if these are actually knockouts or not; not sure whether it's really important to specify 'à l'aide d'un chasse-clou'?
