English term

under-age tuition

English to French Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
Hello colleagues,
In an American English marketing text advertising the merits of a language school abroad, the following sentence can be found:

"Our friendly school is close to shops and services, while our student information service is there to help you with any queries [...]. We can also assist you with home stay placements, references, banking support and ***under-age tuition***."

Sorry, no other context.
One (far fetched?) hypothesis would be that it refers to driving lessons for persons under the legal driving age.
Any explanation, if not actual translation, would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Discussion

Dieezah Apr 20, 2011:
From my own experience I have been a student in a language school out of my own country, an international one which I will not name and in their brochure they had something like that... It was in fact refering to the possibility of having students which were younger than the age bracket they mentionned (because their programs were targeting specific age range but still it was possible, if your level testing results were ok of course to get your application accepted)

Just guessing Maybe the idea is that you can earn money by giving tuition, even if you are not an adult (18).
