Spanish to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs letter from Quintiles (clinical research organisation)
Hi,

I have a letter from Quintiles Mexico, concerning an application for a license permit for medical devices (in this case, ECG electrodes):
"Cabe menionar que el almacén de Quintiles México, S. de R.L. de C.V., ha sido transferido a Fisher Clinical Services de México, S. de R.L. de C.V., con quien celebramos un convenio de Prestación de Servicios para poder utlizar su Licencia Sanitaria y Aviso de Responsable Sanitario en los diferentes trámites llevados a cabo por nuestra empresa dentro de los que se encuentra la importación y exportación, así como almacenamiento y distribución de materiales."

I have "Public Health Officer" but "Aviso" doesn't really fit. Your help is much appreciated!

Maybe just Notice? Looking at the form carefuly, this notice is NOT to inform about the premises but simply to inform who is the person assigned to that job. On the form you can see that the purpose is either to designate a person, to "quit" or to substitute and an original letter of designation must be attached...Maybe in English you need to be a bit more specific and say something like notice of designation of health and safety officer...just an idea. Let's see what other colleagues have to say :-)

Thanks for that. I'm now thinking that "Health and Safety Officer/Representative" is perhaps a better translation. So how about "aviso"? Does it mean that a health and safety rep. has completed a form, confirming the safety and suitability of the premises? In which case, Quintiles is storing its products at Fisher Clinical Services because the latter has a form which confirms its safety. A Health and Safety Officer Form? Not quite right... ;o)

It looks like the responsable sanitario is somebody designated by the company itself and the aviso is the form the company sends to the Direccion General de Servicios de Salud
