""creaking sound, scratching sound"""

Grincements/Frottements métalliques ???
Tony M Jul 25, 2015:
@ Asker Hence why it's important for you to give us as much surrounding ifnromation as you can, so we can probably help you — if nothing else, by a process of elimination! And do you know what the native language / source country of your document are? That might help some people to attempt to back-translate for you.

creaking sound, scratching sound!!!
For the context, I don't konw if it's correct, I am passing my time correcting the source file!!!!
Tony M Jul 25, 2015:
@ Asker And since you seem to have an explanation for what the sound is, you clearly must have some additional context you haven't shared with us!
Tony M Jul 25, 2015:
Sounds... ... like very odd EN! I was beginning to think this about your text, and this seems to confirm my hunch.
For thsi reason, it would probably be a good idea to give us the other sounds on the list, so we can get a better idea.
Nesrine Echroudi (asker) Jul 24, 2015:
it's a list of sounds
HERBET Abel Jul 24, 2015:

agree Tony M : 'retainer' would certainly not be the right word for this in EN, but I think you have probably got the right idea.

maybe grincement = metallic noise/squeeking would suffice?
