Ok Mónica I'll give it a go...
Mónica Algazi (asker) Apr 6, 2016:
That's exactly it, Robert Can you suggest it as an answer, please? Thanks! : )
Robert Carter Apr 6, 2016:
Hi Monica, could it simply mean that once an invoice is issued, it constitutes proof of payment and release from that particular payment obligation? I must admit I've never seen it phrased in that way, if that's what it means.

having the force of an effectual discharge and receipt

valor looks ambiguous as having a monetary value, but appears - as intimated and hinted at by Robert C. - to have the meaning of legal force.

It's half-time Wolfsburg VfL vs. Real Madrid, so no opportunity to elaborate and elucidate, suffice it to say that - in EN law in general and conveyancing in particular - effectual rather than effective is the descriptor for receipts & discharges.

Alas, the web ref. answer of a 'redeemable price' stretches the imagination.

Example sentence:

... to sign and give any effectual receipt and discharge, or receipts and discharges for the same; all which receipts and discharges shall be as valid and effectual

constituting a cancellation of the obligation and proof of payment

Difficult to imagine what else it could mean, but I'm making this a tentative answer as I've not seen this wording before.

Not to worry Mónica, I think Adrian's answer is probably the better choice here.

Thank you, Robert! : )
