Если честно - для вестерна и для саузерна используются те емкости, которые в лаборатории есть под рукой (ванночки, низкие пластиковые коробки с крышками и т.п.).
Почему Вы так категорично считаете, что это нужно называть обязательно cuvette на английском, если на русском для этого можно найти тоже массу альтернативных названий, но авторам почему-то ближе оказалась кювета, я честно не понимаю...
Посмотрите комментарий Джека к моему ответу - и в английском вариантов для названия этой "емкости" масса. А вот cuvette все же гораздо чаще употребляется совсем в другом контексте...

Я встречал cuvette только в контексте "absorbance measurement", а ссылки на alibaba.com и на одну-единственную статью, где cuvette используется неясно для чего, не убедили..
