English term

flatter valve

English to French Medical Medical: Instruments cathéter urinaire hydrophile
The user of the catheter system may, for this purpose, provide a seal by hand (e.g. by pinching), or sealing may take place automatically on the basis of the structural design of the catheter system (e.g. by means of a valve, especially a flatter valve).

An advantageous embodiment is so conceived that the transition area includes a valve which blocks a return flow of wetting fluid from the wetting region into the storage area. The valve used is preferably a flatter valve.

soupape/valve/clapet Heimlich

Thinking laterally (as an engineer, not a medic):

If "flatter" is a typo for "flutter", then a "flutter valve" (aka 'Heimlich valve') is commonly used when draining liquids from the thorax. The ST seems to refer to a similar function - but for draining something other than the thorax. By analogy, however, the term seems to fit.
