Spanish term
objetos muebles
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
Chattel Mortgage
Deed of Chattel Mortgage on Aircraft
There is one entry in the glossary for this as "contents" but I believe that I have seen the term "movables" used in a legal contract. Should this term be translated as "movables" in a deed or would "contents" suffice?
Many thanks in advance for your clarification.
"Los objetos muebles distintos de los enumerados en la Estipulación 4.2 anterior que se hallen colocados de forma permanente en la Aeronave hipotecada presentes o futuros, bien para su adorno, comodidad o explotación, o bien para el servicio de alguna industria. Estos bienes muebles podrán ser especificados a solicitud del Acreedor Hipotecario dejando constancia registral de los mismos de acuerdo con la Estipulación 7.1 siguiente."

I believe "chattels" is also correct, but it sounds rather old-fashioned and (rightly or wrongly) I usually expect to find it in the combo "goods and chattels"

If it is correct, I assume there are some accessories that would be considered personal property in addition to the aircraft itself. That would include optional accessories that are usually not part of the overall package of an aircraft but rather extras.

Here is a link to different types of aircraft accessories. Some parts and/or components wear out regularly, and it is pretty common to have some of these in stock. However, this could be considered personal property potentially available for the right price. Here is the link:

Note from asker:
Hi Michael, I found that too but wondered if it would be correct in the case of an aircraft mortgaged by one company to another. |

chattels
Note from asker:
Yes, I wondered about this option, as it's a "chattel mortgage" (hipoteca mobiliaria). |
