: Right words, wrong order! 'electromagnet pole face' would be much better. Yes, but that doesn't sound natural in EN — it's blatant "translator-ese". Individual terms are not all that it's about: translation is creating something that fits the context.

Kudoz is primarily about terms, not grammar :) That said, an even better solution, keeping 'of the' which reads more easily than your 3-word compound noun (esp. for non-native readers of English), would be "a pole face of the electromagnet".
