English term

webber

English to German Tech/Engineering Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
Es geht um die Herstellung eines Vliesstoffes. Hier heißt es: The ultrafine fiber-generating fibers are subjected to such treatments as spinning, stretching, thermal fixation, crimping and cutting to give a rawstock of those fibers. Such raw stock is opened on a card and formed into a random web or cross-lap web on a webber.

Vliesverarbeiter

Weberkamm

From the (sketchy) context, I wonder if this is what is meant, but it is really only a guess. Please ask the customer for a definition of the "webber", as the terms does not appear in any of my usual sources, and as far as I ca find out, nowhere on the net either.

The word obviously derives from \"web\", and is thus most likely a very specialised weaving jargon term for some type of fibre-holder, but until this is confirmed (or not), we can\'t help much further, I fear.
