Ableitung

German to English Medical Medical (general) Medical examination
"EEG vom als Wachableitung mit Hyperventilation (gute Mitarbeit) und
Fotostimulation.
...
In der gesamten Ableitung keine durchgehende Seitendifferenz, kein Hinweis für einen
Verlangsamungsherd und kein Auftreten von pathologischen Spitzenpotentialen. Keine Befunderweiterung
in den verschiedenen uni- und bipolaren Ableitungen.
...
Leider war Aufgrund der Uhrzeit keine akute
Ableitung eines EEG möglich."
Can anybody help? It would be much appreciated. I'm a bit unclear whether the previous KudoZ answers are appropriate for this context. It has to do with checking whether epilepsy might be present in a child.

Discussion

Steffen Walter Aug 25, 2022:
@Anne Thanks for the hint - done.
Anne Schulz Aug 25, 2022:
@Steffen Why don't you propose an answer?
Anne Schulz Aug 23, 2022:
agree with Steffen You might use "immediate recording" for "akute Ableitung".
Steffen Walter Aug 23, 2022:
Strange usage of "akut" I believe they mean "spontaneous" or "ad hoc" here (as opposed to scheduled).
Marc Svetov (asker) Aug 23, 2022:
Thank you, Steffen. "Leider war Aufgrund der Uhrzeit keine akute
Ableitung eines EEG möglich." Acute reading/recording?
Steffen Walter Aug 23, 2022:
Two meanings I suspect that the author used "Ableitung(en)" in two different meanings in your text, namely the EEG or reading/recording as a whole (Wachableitung = reading in the awake state; in der gesamten Ableitung = throughout the EEG (reading)) and the individual EEG leads (in den verschiedenen uni- und bipolaren Ableitungen = in the individual uni- and bipolar leads/channels).
