@ Fuad Mona To me, Hold -harmless is the most suitable as it is mentioned in an agreement
adel almergawy (asker) Jun 17, 2020:
@Mr fuad Mona The link AbdSAMAD Attached Included more than three statements having the meaning of ]برىء الذمة ( do harmless/clearance of liability / discharge/extenorate/) besides to relieve someone's conscience. Therefore I had to choose just the link
Fuad Yahya Jun 16, 2020:
Take a look at this text, . . . which is similar to yours:

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/815094/0001193125070...

DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT

"Distributor shall be solely responsible for, and shall indemnify and hold Manufacturer free and harmless from, any and all claims, damages or lawsuits (including Manufacturer’s attorneys’ fees) arising out of the acts of Distributor, its employees, its directors and its agents."

Of course, we can't be 100% sure, since all we have is a tiny fragment from your text. There is an obvious difference: in your text, the party held free and harmless is the importer, while in this case it is the manufacturer, but the concept is the same. What we don't know is the text that follows.

Acquittal is the legal term used in contracts.
mona elshazly Jun 16, 2020:
it is acquittal from liability: see the following link: https://books.google.com.eg/books?id=GgA3AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA108&l...
Fuad Yahya Jun 16, 2020:
No, it is not, Adel. Acquittal and إبراء ذمة are not conterminous (certainly not in this context), but I can't stop you if you are determined to use it.
mona elshazly Jun 16, 2020:
To the asker: please the next time post the text with the term, or you will errant answers.
mona elshazly Jun 16, 2020:
Mr. Fuad, you are right. Acquittal is the legal term for إبراء ذمة
Fuad Yahya Jun 16, 2020:
The context is inadequate Not only was it posted late, but it falls short of satisfactory. The posted term is morphologically different from the term used in the context, and the text following the posted sentence is required to form an adequate idea of the intended meaning.
adel almergawy (asker) Jun 15, 2020:
A lot of appreciation to all of you.
adel almergawy (asker) Jun 15, 2020:
it is an agreement between a company which appointed a sales representative to distribute and promote for the company products
adel almergawy (asker) Jun 15, 2020:
@ The text
يقوم الموزع بكل ذلك على مسئوليته وعلى حسابه و نفقاته وحده دون سواء و يوافق الموزع بموجب هذا العقد على تبرئه ذمة المصدر
Fuad Yahya Jun 15, 2020:
Context Without real, fully fleshed out context, this question has no definitive answer.
Youssef Chabat Jun 15, 2020:
Financial sorry
Youssef Chabat Jun 15, 2020:
Is there any more context? Is it finsnc, penal code...?
