I don't know what we'd call it in English but my daughter has just done the curs de monitora de lleure having done the curs de premonitora two years ago. Basically it is a course in which young people (premonitors are under 18) learn how to entertain kids in a useful and pedagogical way in casals, summer camps and other free-time activities after school, at weekends or in the holidays.

I don't know about the premonitor qualification, but the full monitor (over 18) qualification is worth university credits and usually gets young people a decent job in the summer holidays working with children.

Counselor in training course (CIT)
A decidely American way of saying it. In American English "monitors" are called counselors (e.g., camp counselers). Don't know what the equivalent in British English would be.
The typical course young people do to become counselers are called CIT (Counseler in Training) courses.
