Danish term

den onde mail

Danish to English Marketing Marketing
The context is sales/marketing. It seems to be referring (in some instances) to a letter sent to a customer etc. re. a problem/request and proposed solution, though the exact context is a little unclear. Grateful for any help. Many thanks.

It's difficult to be sure. The purpose of 'den onde mail' seems to be to reach agreement with the customer about a way forward in solving a problem. It's not necessarily that the customer's problem is directly due to a product supplied. It seems equally to be a case of a letter sent following a discussion with the customer about a solution to a need. There's no evidence of it being a letter that has been delayed, or a typo etc. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Is there any sign that it is a letter that got delayed or went astray, or could it be something like a typo or unfortunate formulation that caused a misunderstanding? Is your text an apology?

agree Christine Andersen : good suggestion - it covers 'a multitude of sins' :-) - but is not entirely meaningless

agree Mads Grøftehauge : Yes, as the 'evil' e-mail might be so either because it is brutal news to the recipient or because it is a pain to compose for the sender. Come to think of it, maybe 'brutal' could work...
