Dutch term
zekerheid
Dutch to English
Bus/Financial
I am unsure about how to translate the word "zekerheid" in the following sentence. It could be understood as "security" or as "collateral", or even "surety", just to pick out the most obvious meanings.
"De Opdrachtnemer garandeert dat door de Opdrachtnemer niet meer of andere zekerheid op de Beschikbaarheidsvergoeding is verschaft dan bepaald in de Financieringsovereenkomsten."
This concerns a draft DBMF contract, where "Beschikbaarheidsvergoeding" = availability compensation", meaning the compensation for making and keeping a road available for traffic.
TIA

Security
Aangezien dit op een financieel vlak ligt, en niet op een legaal vlak, vindt ik dat het security moet zijn. Zie Kramers Business Dictionary.

Comment: "Thanks to all.
This was a tricky one, but after weighing all the input I have decided to go with the least sopecific and broadest translation. "

certainty
Het elektronisch woordenboek Jurlex geeft hiervoor twee begrippen:
zekerheid (gewisheid): certainty
zekerheid (garantie): guarantee, security
garantie is hier net iets te veel, denk ik

surety
Oops! Sorry to cause a third track, but I think 'surety' would be right here.
BTW, are the Dutch alone in using DBMF as an abbreviation for 'Design, Build, Maintenance & Finance' or is it used in the Anglo-Saxon world too?
