schaafmes
A doctor (schaafmes) can never be applied on a roll that is running.
The roll must be stopped to apply the doctor on it.
Once the doctor has been applied, the roll has to start running and accelerating progressively until it achieves the working speed.
The problem we can have when applying a doctor on a running roll is that there is a big risk of a blade accident, and consequently, the roll can be damaged.
Never use liquid or paste lubricants such as oils and grease to help the blade ---slide in---: dust, dirt and doctored material will stick to the lubricant and lock the blade in place, making it very hard to extract.

- "apply"
dust, dirt and doctored material will stick to the lubricant and lock the blade in place, making it very hard to extract..
