English term

double-beat valve

English to Dutch Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering steam turbine
3.3.2 CONTROL VALVES WITH ACTUATOR

The purpose of the valves is to control the steam flow to the nozzle groups and thus also the turbine output.
The HP control valves are of double-seat types and are operated by one actuator.
Each control valve controls the steam flow to one nozzle group. The valves open gradually, i.e. the following valve opens when the maximum flow has been reached through the previous valve. By this flow control, a good efficiency is achieved even in the case of a partial load, because the loss by throttling is decreased.

Design description:
""Double-beat"" valves are used, in particular, for their symmetrical construction and, therefore, only a small operating force is necessary to operate them.

Discussion

Machiel van Veen (X) Mar 2, 2011:
Is the sentence right? In the text I read "control valves are of DOUBLE-SEAT types" Under "design description:" I read "DOUBLE-BEAT" valves. So I think one of them is wrong.

dubbele terugslagklep

I wonder if there might be any confusion:
