Camions et remorques
Bonjour,
"Each product can also be used in many different areas.
Some examples are:
Shrink discs and ***couplings*** in wind turbines [...]
Locking assemblies, ***couplings*** and dampers in the mining industry [...]
Shaft ***couplings*** and flexible couplings in propellers [...]
Locking assemblies, ***couplings*** and shrink discs in cranes [...]"
Merci beaucoup.

: Shrink discs and shafts are certainly rotating coupling parts; only locking assemblies may be used for trucks and trailors as well..

accouplements
All samples are taken from the domain of rotating machines, not of that of towing and training devices.

What is the difference between coupling and accouplement?
coupling
English
Noun
• act of joining together to form a couple
• a device that couples two things together
• (computing) the degree of reliance between two program modules
• (electronics) a connection between two electronic circuits such that a signal can pass between them
• (physics) The property of physical systems that they are interacting with each other
accouplement
English
Noun
• (rare) The act of coupling, or the state of being coupled; union - Caxton
• (rare) That which couples, as a tie or brace
http://the-difference-between.com/accouplement/coupling
Coupling vs Hitch - What's the difference?
• A fastener or connection point, as for a trailer.
His truck sported a heavy-duty hitch for his boat.
http://the-difference-between.com/hitch/coupling

Discussion
Locking assemblies, ***couplings*** and dampers in the mining industry [...]accouplements/embrayages
Shaft ***couplings*** and flexible couplings in propellers [...]accouplements/embrayages
Locking assemblies, ***couplings*** and shrink discs in cranes [...]"accouplements/embrayages
Note 1: all components are mechanical couplings between a drive and a machinery. There is no hitch-type coupling for towing or training a trailer, which should be translated as "attelage".
Note 2: "coupling" is a generic term. You may also use "clutch" for vehicles (embrayage in French) if the coupling is actuated smoothly to couple drive and driven parts.
Cela aide-t-il ?
