English term
C&D (course and distance)
English to French
Other
Sports / Fitness / Recreation
courses hippiques
"Subject of some support for her debut over C&D in September ..."
"It was a first win since a triumph over this course and distance in October 2007 for the Namid gelding, who was beaten a short head at Leopardstown last month"

CD (C&D)
Abbreviation for "course and distance". Denotes a horse that has won over the same course and distance as the race taking place.

D Would be inset a box shape and indicate that the horse had won at today's distance, C&D won over Course and Distance.

Finally, the course and distance guides tell you a lot about the horse and its chances of winning. Look for re-assurance that the horse has experience at this distance and course. It isn’t the be-all and end-all, but if a horse is already looking better than the others in the race and it is the only one with decent course and distance experience, it should make you feel a bit more comfortable.
