This is a term used when you place an object, one side of which would be generally acknowledge as important, on that very side.

The reason the author does this is that her husband features in the photo with her, and he has behaved very badly towards her.

By the way, although the mother tongue of this lady is presumably Urdu, her English is actually far better than that of the vast majority of writers in the English language today. I say this as I wish to emphasize that you can trust her use of English.
