: It is not so much the translation I object to, more the usage of the chart. MEasurements and project management are something I know a great deal about. A gauge chart is not used for measuring progress. I suspect that the mistake is in the "usually ..."

Discussion
From my experience gauge charts are not used to measure process of projects, so the question is do you want a correct translation of the term or a translation that suits the description?
I suspect I shouldn't give an example related to the specific material I'm working on (helpful as it would have been), but the gauge charts there are similar to this one.
Can you please provide us with a source that shows it in your context, or further explanations?
