Mi sembra che il termine "tap" nel contesto delle reti venga generalmente lasciato in originale
eventualmente, se necessario, penso si potrebbe tradurre in "dispositivi di intercettazione di rete" oppure "prese intermedie", in sostanza questi dispositivi consentono di creare un accesso in linea per monitorare il traffico delle rete senza interferenze come in:
