"good for one lot"

So good for one lot, bad for the others, but it meant "good" in both cases.

"one lot" , I think it basically means "a group of ...", yet since the sentence has "for the others" following, it would be better to consider "a part of a group of ..."
("..." could be people, animals, etc.)
Only from the source term, I am not sure which word will be most suitable for "good", sometimes it's just ok with 「良い(こと)」, and may be in some sentences, it will be said as 「歓迎すべき(こと)」, 「理想的な(こと)」 or whatever best for the particular case.
