This cost center focuses on driving Velocity Product Development (“VPD”). This team manages the VPD process, helps the SBUs to drive the new product development cycle time down and to provide innovation metrics for senior leadership to manage the growth portfolio. Specifically, VPD helps to standardize the way Honeywell works, increase quality and reduce the costs of product manufacturing, reduce costs and enhance the quality of Honeywell’s administrative functions and improve business operations through investments in systems and process improvements. VPD is also implemented in foreign SM entities. UOP has its own VDP team and does not use this service provided by SM HQ.
