English term

mesne agreement

English to Portuguese Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
if an assignment does not take place, probably the person will need to have a mesne agreement while the owner is not occupying the property.

English term (edited): mesne /profits /agreement

non-IP / land > contrato de ocupação precária

mesne interest is payable in ENG conveyancing for bare occupation pre-conveyancing completion where no 'rent' is receivable to create a fully-fledged tenancy cf. the E&W Law Society Standard Conditions for the Sale of Land.

Mesne profits rather than 'rent' is payable by the tenant at sufferance - sitting tenant or quasi-squatter without recognition of any security of tenure: Rent Act protection
Example sentence:

Mesne (pronounced "mean") profits are sums of money paid for the occupation of land to a person with right of immediate occupation, where no permission has been given for that occupation The concept is feudal in origin.

Precarious occupancy agreements are not governed by any legal provisions. They are the result of practi- ce and case law.
