English term
be the later of the date of that notice and the date (if any)
English to Spanish
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
where the employee, consultant or director terminates or purports to terminate a contract of employment or engagement by giving notice to the relevant Group Company of the termination of the employment or engagement (whether or not he is lawfully able so to do), be the later of the date of that notice and the date (if any) for the termination expressly stated in such notice;
be the later of the date of that notice and the date (if any) for the termination expressly stated in such notice;
¿Alguien puede ayudarme con la traducción?
¡Gracias!

Discussion
This would probably be much clearer if we also had the context of the first part of this paragraph.
But what do you think about the rest of the sentence? The translation that was chosen does not make any sense to me... I might be wrong, but I think the original is trying to say that the actual date to be considered is to be selected between two dates as explained... I must be missing something?
(The termination date will) be the later of:
-the date of that notice
-the date (if any) for the termination expressly stated in such notice;
