MANA
Much of the game mechanic revolves around managing and using mana wisely: casting spells often enough to achieve your goal, but not so often that you run out of mana early. (The Appendix)
The TCG Magic: The Gathering uses mana as the central game mechanic. Mana is typically produced by tapping card resources such as land, artifacts, or creatures. It’s used for summoning every item on the battlefield and for casting every spell, with a few rare exceptions. (Geeky Domain)
Still, it’s not an easy fix: mana systems are inherently meant to limit power, so how can you make having limited power fun? A good way to tackle this problem is to first take a look at a wider variety of games to see different approaches to this paradox. (Omegathorion)
