Moving along at a nice, steady pace.
From what I can gather, it is based on the speed or pace of the company's progress.
It's sort of like how a person moves.
One could move along very slowly, at a crawl.
One could move along at a walking pace.
One could move along at a trot (just a little faster than walking but not running).
One could move along with great speed (a runner).
This is the best I can explain it. Hope it helps.

quick finance overview
A trot is a slow run, here it means running through or gradually going through the company's financial position.
