take out from inside

He lifted his hand gesturing one of the servants over to him. When he approached, the king stood up, threw back the seat of his throne and told the servant to take out from inside what seemed to be a small chest, and then ordered him to move back to the doors.

Dear native English Speakers!
Please let me know if the idea is clear here or if I should add something.
The chest was INSIDE the throne, the King just opened the latter, its seat being a lid or cover that can be thrown back.
My translation from Russian, it is.
Thank you!

reach inside and take out (remove)

the king stood up, threw back the lid that formed the seat of his throne and told the servant to reach inside and take out what seemed to be a small chest.

Others may be able to improve on "threw back the lid that formed the seat of the throne."

agree aira07 : If you can break up the sentence, maybe "removed the seat of his throne to reveal a small chest. He told the servant to reach inside and take it out..." would work a little better? But Kim is right on the money here.

Yes, the idea is clear

though it might be a bit clearer if the king

take out the chest

He lifted his hand to beckon one of the servants. When he came, the king stood up, threw back the seat of his throne to reveal a cavity that contained what seemed to be a small chest. He ordered the servant to take out the chest and then asked him to retreat to the doors.

remove from inside it
