English term

bumping and grinding against the hopeless boner

English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
It was like Junior High School, like a Friday night dance, bumping and grinding against the hopeless boner of a pimple-faced boy who knows with a desperate certainly that he will never, not in a million years, get laid. Except that there was no bumping and grinding, just soft, insistent pressure. And except that I would have fucked Jack in a second, right there, with the door open for everyone to see.

airmailrpl is right. It is mistifying, why did you choose the answer which is, - due to a misunderstanding, - incorrect and sent in later than the other answer, whith a substantial number of "agree"-s.
airmailrpl Jan 3, 2008:
You can contact a Moderator and have them change your choice - in the future you should wait longer before grading - KudoZ rules ask for 24 hours before grading
airmailrpl Jan 3, 2008:
Congratulations - you have chosen the completely incorrect answer - even Paula admits that her interpretation was incorrect !!

See for ex. Urban Dictionary "boner -A slang term for an erect penis due to sexual stimulation. It is called so because the penis resembles a bone."http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=boner

You should probably have marked this as being potentially offensive.

I believe "boner" in this case does refer to sexual stimulation - a teenage, pimple faced boy, noticing girls, etc., plus the context of the overall passage that is written.

neutral airmailrpl : why "with difficulty " ??

the definition of "grinding" - to move with "difficulty" or "friction" - though maybe it just means friction, as in rubbing against - thanks fosr the comment airmailrp - have a happy new year - Mike :)
agree Nesrin : This is a better explanation of what "grinding" is though http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perreo

Thank you, Nesrin - Mike :)
agree mistahara (X) : Yes, it's clearly the boy's "boner", not that the boy is a "boner"

Thank you, mistahara - Mike :)
agree Jim Tucker (X) : lol yes, though I think the only one having any difficulty is the boy, not the grinder

I hear you - so nice not to be that boy anymore!! - Mike :)

agree Paula Vaz-Carreiro : I have looked at the text again, and I must apologise:you are right it's clearly the boy's "boner",not that the boy is a "boner".I have written to the asker to point out my mistake.Very sorry///Can't hide it anymore; the button is gone :-(

Thank you, Paula - if I had a dime for everytime I make a mistake, I'd be a multimillionaire. I know it was not intentional. I appreciate your professionalism. I am not sure, but if you hide your answer, maybe it will open up again. Thanks - Mike :)
agree Joanna Borowska : bumping and rubbing against...

agree Will Matter : In turn and in order, I agree with the various comments provided by Jim, jerrie and Joanna. "Wiggling & squirming against a relatively "useless" (from a certain POV) boy" is another way to put it. We see it all here, don't we? Happy New Year, sir.
