unusual argument / conflict / conundrum
I see this idea as describing the conflict between the "futur orageux" and the "sentiments positifs". I would use "argument" or "conflict" myself which contains the nuance of the conflict we feel when confronted by such a negative and positive. This is what I think the "problematique" is.
Which of these three to use would depend on the nuance chosen.

VISUAL CONUNDRUM
Although this word (conundrum) is often associated with word puzzles, it can also be used refer to non word problems. Maybe this "visual conundrum" could work, and could sound artistic enough.

paradox
Is what I'd probably use here. In this sort of "artistic waffle", you often have to get quite far away from the French; I feel that the "problématique atyptique" is simply saying that the opposition is presenting the viewer with a paradox (and not one that sounds particularly unusual...).

Simpler than the overblown French text but I think that this is what was being suggested.
Discussion
you could, of course, go fo something like "unusual dilemma"
