French term
pelucher
French to English
Other
Cosmetics, Beauty
This comes from a survey following the clinical trial of a facial cream.
The item reads:
"Le produit ne peluche pas."
I know the term for fabric, but what do we say for a moisturizer??
All suggestions gratefully received.

Comment: "This was a hard one to score, no clear-cut answers and many helpful suggestions. In the end I did go with "pill" as a verb, but with quotation marks. Thanks to all for the feedback!"

: Yes, it seems that there is a slight nuance between "balling up" and "skin peeling": the "balls" contain both dead skin and moisturizer. EDIT: perhaps "balling up" is slightly too informal for this context though?

Note from asker:
Thank you for this suggestion. I did not use it because I think of clumps as being bigger (I believe I have seen "paquets" in French), like for mascara. But in a pinch it could have worked. |

Yes, another good idea, although I prefer the verb form. Thanks for your idea. |
