J'ai pris ce jour, du point de vue contentieux, une décision de rejet.
This is from a letter in which a request for a VAT refund has been denied. I'm not sure how to translate the term in question, apart from this attempt:
I have today decided to reject your claim, subject to any dispute raised by you in response.
But I'm not at all sure that the phrase has this meaning.

concerning the dispute
Well, I don't see much of a problem here --- as there is no other object for 'décision de rejet', I feel pretty sure that the noun 'contentieux' is what is being rejected. "En ce qui concerne le contentieux..." -- that sort of idea.
I don't think you need to look any deeper than that, though you will, of course, want to recast that in your own words!
