French term

permet de ne pas censurer l'écriture

French to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. etnografia

(by scrapping whole parts of the text) no need to clean up the writing style

it is not necessary to make value judgements about the writing (style)

The translation is rather loose but I wanted to convey how I understand the whole thing

actually makes the content more explicit

See explanation of the other question. They are trying to justify not including some material ("censurer") and say that this does not actually amount to censorship, on the contrary it actually makes the content more, not less, explicit; it does not amount to censorship of the substatial content.
Peer comment(s):

agree Jocelyne S : Yes, that's how I read it too. The target will need to be totally reworded as a literal translation won't work here, IMO.

means no (self-)censorship is required when writing

The author seems to be talking more about editing than censorship in the conventional sense (and that may be her point): the transformation of a "scattered collection" of notes into a coherent narrative - as she says, what is left out in the published version isn't "forbidden" content, just meaningless/unstructured material.

Suggest something like:
"Being selective when it comes to publication means no (self-)censorship is required when writing."
