IMO, the literal translation of Maximal- > maximum doesn't work here. Furthermore, the 'ultimate solution' may in fact be a trimmed-down solution.

: I agree with this answer. From the text, the solution is the absolutelly most complete solution and covers alls options fully, therefore "ultimate solution" is perferct.

it's probably the same like maximum wight for - Maximalgewicht or maximum amount for Maximalbetrag - but I am not a native speaker of english language - hope it helps you
