Swiss employment contract
"Der mitarbeiter ist orientiert: Über die Abredeversicherung bei der Unfallversicherung bei Zwischensaison und Beendigung des Arbeitsverhältnisses, den Wiedereinschluss des Unfalles bei der Krankenpflegeversicherung und den Wechsel in eine Einzelversicherung bei der Krankengeldversicherung."
This provision appears under the title "Wichtige Hinweise" in a labour contract concluded between a Swiss hotel and an employee. I get the gist of what is being expressed but am at a loss to fit the pieces of this puzzle together. I would appreciate it if a few colleagues would care to take a bash at this. Cheers, Rob

Rob, this is based on some online research and Hamblock/Wessels. I'm not absolutely happy with some of the terminology, but maybe it will help.
The employee has been informed about the extension of accident protection during the off season and termination of the position, the reinstatement of accident risk coverage with the statutory health insurance and the switch to an individual insurance policy for temporary disability insurance.
Insurances
Individual: Make sure you have a sufficient insurance cover for travels abroad. Swiss have to include the accident protection in their health insurance and to complete coverage towards a world-wide validity. If you stop working, ask your insurance company to provide you with a so-called "Abredeversicherung" on easy terms, which extends the former employer-accident-protection for a maximum of another 6 months.

Bei den Zusatzversicherungen kann es sein, dass der Wiedereinschluss des Unfallrisikos unter Umständen nicht problemlos möglich ist.

: Very good Kim! I would just add "during the off season and UPON termination ..." [Being 1/4 Swiss :)]

: agree (also with Dee); there are no counterparts to some of the specific types of insurance in Switzerland, so paraphrasing is the way to go (I found a Zurich Insurance site where Abredeversicherung is translated as 'extension by special arrangement')
