German term

aneurysma spurium

German to English Medical Medical (general) publication about PNH
Is this actually a term in English? I find a lot of hits for it, but I am not convinced that this is an accepted term in English as well as German...

sorry for the wrong spelling of the term . It should of course read aneurYsm.
Peer comment(s):

disagree SJLD : aneurism - no such word in English or Latin - medical English tends not to use Latin at all/whether you spell it aneurysm or aneurism, aneurysm spurium is wrong in English

I had corrected the term long before you found fault with it. Interestingly I now find that it was not posted. Besides, maybe by way of exception, the term is frequently used in English, too, because its definition would be a pretty lengthy one.
neutral Marga Shaw : The spelling is with a "y", both in German and in English (i.e. "Aneurysma" and "aneurysm"//If I overlooked your correction, I am sorry. However, regarding the remainder I agree with SJLD.

I had corrected my spelling mistake long before you found fault with it. Besides, i find it strange to distribute disagrees or neutrals on account of a spelling mistake.
