Το κλίτος ενός ναού είναι nave και ο τρούλος dome.

Πολλές ιστοσελίδες στο διαδίκτυο με 'domed basilica' καθώς και με 'single-naved'.

Σου προτείνω την πιο σύντομη απόδοση μιας και έχεις τη λέξη 'τρουλαία' και όχι 'με τρούλο/μετά τρούλου' που είναι πιο συνηθισμένη ελληνική περιγραφή εκκλησιών. Θα μπορούσες δηλαδή να πεις και 'single-naved basilica with a dome'.

The Church of holy Salvation was founded by King Stefan Urosh III (Dechanski). It was constructed between 1327 and 1335 by the master builder Fra Vita of Kotor. It succeeds in incorporating the multi-naved Western style into the single-naved Byzantine basilica, with a dome, and marble decorations of extraordinary beauty.

This, however, seems to put the cart before the horse, since the single nave plan was of great antiquity and was widely used through Europe, and even in the Midi occurs frequently in non-fortified structures. Bonde also suggests that the use of the plan might "also have advertised an allegiance to classical and Carolingian vocabulary . . . . the tradition of the single-naved building was rich in the Roman, Carolingian and early medieval heritage of the Midi" (p. 176)

The medieval archaeology of the Alacami bears at least some reflection to the historical developments of devastation and revival, experienced in eastern Cilicia between the 7th and 13th centuries. Between the 12th and the mid 13th centuries, after the collapse or removal of the clerestory and aisle divides of the basilica nave, a very fine single-naved chapel was built which reused the surviving apse of the earlier basilica. The organisation of the site was entirely transformed, as the great basilica walls subsequently formed a compound for the chapel.

Και για να πάρεις μια γεύση 'τρουλλαίας βασιλικής', και να θυμηθείς την πατρίδα μου και να ζηλέψεις, δες την Θεσσαλονικιώτικη Αγιά Σοφιά που είναι κι αυτή 'βασιλική με τρούλο', για την ακρίβεια 'σταυρόσχημη/σταυροειδής τρουλωτή βασιλική', στο http://www.it.uom.gr/project/monuments/sofia.htm. Πιθανολογείται αρχική πρόθεση των αρχιτεκτόνων να την χτίσουν κατ' εικόνα και καθ' ομοίωση της μεγάλης Αγίας Σοφίας μιας και η Θεσσαλονίκη ήταν 'συμβασιλεύουσα' και συναγωνιζόταν την Πόλη στον αριθμό εκκλησιών. Χτίστηκε μάλλον επάνω στα θεμέλια παλαιοχριστιανικής βασιλικής γύρω στον 8ο αιώνα μ.Χ., αν και η αρχική της ανέγερση μπορεί να άρχισε και τον 4ο αιώνα μ.Χ.
