In this particular context, where manslaughter is alleged, two deaths occurred as a result of the negligence. Although 'multiple' is stretching the meaning of the word a bit, I am minded to translate it as just that. Thanks for your helpful comments.

Dictionaries / reference books aren't much help. I think κατά συρροή is used in cases (e.g. accidents) where a number of people are killed/injured at the same time. On the other hand, κατά συρροή δολοφόνος appears widely as a term for 'serial killer'. There are two conflicting ideas here (simultaneous / in sequence), so κατά συρροή is a confusing term.
