terre-verte
"Cennino's verdeterra has no other equivalent among English-speaking painters than the French name terre-verte. This has become, in certain quarters, so far anglicized that I am tempted to create the spelling "turvurt," to conform with the pronunciation common in trade."

green earth
GREEN EARTH
As its name suggests, this was a much used earth pigment, based on natural clay that gave a wide variety of different neutral greens. It was also known as Terre Verte and the best pigments came from Cornwall, Verona and Germany.

earth green/earthy green
If relating to oils there are a range of earth tones artists have used for years: brown ,red, green yellow etc - and that is what they are called...earth (whatever the colour). See site referenced.
Also: verdemare is sea green so verdeterra could also be grass green, but if for ancient paingint probably earth green is meant here.
