Just found my Italian-English technical dictionary, and it also lists "rough coat" / "rough coating". Depends on what your specific context is.
According to Ching's "Visual Dictionary of Architecture", rough coat or rendering coat is the first coat of plaster on a masonry wall, whereas roughcast is an exterior wall finish.
